Charles Marlow was born in 1875 in Sundon, near Dunstable in Bedfordshire. He was 1 of 7 children born to William & Sarah Ann.
In 1881 he is 6 years old & living with his family in Sundon. HIs father is 30 years old & working as an agricultural labourer alongside Charles' brother 12 year old Frederick. His mother Sarah 30, is at home looking after his younger siblings, George 9, Clara 4 & 1 year old Esau.
In 1891 he is still living in Sundon, but his mother has died, George & Frederick have left home & he is working with his father as a farm labourer to help support Clara, Esau & now 9 year old Thomas & 6 year old Harriet.
Charles marries Catherine Kate Randell in Luton in 1905.
In 1911 he is 36 years old & working at the cement & lime works. He is still living in Slate Hall Sundon with Kate & their 2 children, 13 year old Fred, a farm labourer & 5 year old Dorothy.
Charles enlisted in 1915 into the Bedfordshire Regiment & was posted to France in July 1916. In early 1917 he found himself in a military hospital in Brighouse, Yorkshire.
Charles survived the war & died in Luton in December 1937.
