Ronald Cunningham was born in Luton in October 1899.
In 1901 aged just 1 year old he is living with his family at no 16 Gladstone Avenue.
His father John Christopher is 39 & a travelling drapery & clothing retailer, his mother Clara is 40 & at home looking after Ronald & his siblings, 12 year old Christopher Angus, 9 year old Margaret Eva, 8 year old Alice Jean & John Crawford who is 6.
In 1911 Ronald is living with his family at No 10 Westbourne Road.
When war broke out Ronald would have only been 14, his 2 older brothers, Christopher & John both joined up, Christopher enlisted into the Royal Engineers & John joined the Bedfordshire Yeomanry.
No service record can be found for Ronald but an article in the Bury Free Press on 24th August 1918 reports that 'a verdict of accidental death was returned at an inquest in the borough of Norfolk that Flight Cadet Ronald Cunningham met with a fatal accident whilst piloting a biplane' in Thetford on 10th August 1918.
Ronald is buried in the Rothesay Road Cemetery.
