The Christ Church War Memorial unveiled by the Bishop of St Albans in July 1921. Carved in oak, it stood in the Lady Chapel at Christ Church and was designed by Mr Basil C. Deacon, of Luton. It was created by sculptors Harry Hems & Sons, of Exeter, who also created the lych gate at Holy Trinity Church, Biscot.

The names on the memorial were not recorded in the newspapers of the time, although the Saturday Telegraph on November 9th, 1918 - two days before Armistice Day, published the church's then existing roll of honour with the names of 184 men from the parish who had died during the war and who were remembered during special prayers on All Saints Day.
