George Rosson was born in 1882 in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. He was 1 of 5 children born to Richard & Laura.
In 1891 the family are living on Hockliffe Road, Leighton Buzzard. Richard is 64 & a carpenter, Laura is 44. Frank the eldest son is 14 years old & working as a parchment maker's boy, 10 year old Lily & 8 year old George are at school, whilst 5 year old Harry & 2 year old Laura are at home.
The 1911 census tells us that George is now 29 years old & living with his younger brother Harry & his family at 77 Bury Park Road, Luton. Also living with the family are George's 63 year old widowed mother & Headley Farr, a boarder. The men are all working in the straw trade, Harry & George are straw hat stiffeners & Headley is a blocker. Amy 29, Harry's wife, is at home looking after their 2 children, 3 year old Ronald Ernest & 9 month old Marjorie Ethel.
George enlisted into the No 9 Field Ambulance Service of the RAMC.
He survived the war but died on 25th September 1920.
George is buried in the cemetery on Rothesay Road, Luton.
