The Luton News , 22nd February 1917

Cpl Frederick Victor Wesley, 22310, 4th Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment, was killed in action on on the Somme on January 26th, 1917. He was aged 27.

Sadly, the only mention of him around the time os his death seems to have been a roll of honour notice placed in the Luton News by his sister Cassey on behalf of younger brother Percy and relatives.

Frederick was born in Luton, the elder son of Frederick and Cassandra Wesley, both deceased. His sister was lodging in Jubilee Street and his brother was staying with his Uncle George Bailey and Aunt Elizabeth (his mother's sister, nee Pratt) in Oak Road.

Frederick address on the Luton Roll of Honour is given as North Street.
